Megan Brew

MBChB, BMedSci (hons)

I grew up on the northwest coast of England. I moved to Edinburgh to study and stayed in Scotland to work across hospitals and general practice. Arriving in New Zealand in 2019, I was initially based at Whanganui Hospital. I then transitioned to General Practice in 2021, working for an Iwi-led organisation serving the Whanganui community. In September 2023 I relocated to Wellington.

I enjoy general practice because it allows me to use all aspects of my training every day. My previous work has been focused on preventing and managing long-term health conditions and seeking equitable outcomes for my patients. I have a particular interest in diabetes and enjoy working with whānau/families to maintain and achieve health, for everyone. I am currently working towards fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking, and yoga, but am happiest when I am by the sea.
